Friday Routines - 4/17 - I'm a Supermarket Tart

...Not the kind you eat...Instead I'm armed with my re-useable/green shopping bags, I enter those sliding doors ready to get my hands on anything fresh I can. I’ve become fickle and spread my shopping from store to store. Leaving each one without so much as a cursory glance over my shoulder. Leaving without another thought about Mr. Produce Guys possible hurt feelings (in fact, he’s usually smiling with relief that I finally left him alone).
While I’ve tried and tried to be faithful to one...this is no longer the case. I’m putting my shopping out there and spreading it up and down the island like sweet butter on warm bread. Sure I try to reduce my carbon footprint on the island by systematically picking my route on Hwy 278, which isn’t all that difficult as it only goes north and south all while taking a leaf out of the UPS guys, making only right turns to limit the idling time it takes to turn left resulting in lower CO2 emissions.
But now I find myself on any one day running to at least two grocery stores if not three. Always on the lookout for a store manager or two so “I can have a word.” Some are more receptive than others. Piggly Wiggly for fresh fish and veal, Publix for other stuff and Fresh Market for special stuff. Perhaps another way I could reduce my CO2 emissions would be to get a little more organized and hit the stores every other day...but I like everything fresh...what is a supermarket tart to do?
Now...off to the golf tournament. The Heritage has started and today I’m a golf tart.

I am jealous! We have wonderful grocery stores and open air farmer's markets here in Kansas City, but being able to buy my ingrediants daily is "nothing but a dream...". Saturday is my day and I will say I have spread my loyalties out to more than one store that day. I can have two or three lists and it may take several hours but I will find the perfect ingrediant rather than settle for less than perfect because of convenience. Its all about the taste-the look-the quality-I am totally a super market tart too! I guess I had better start looking for Mr. Produce Guy....or maybe Mr. Meat Cutter Man-thats where I push the buttons in my store....
