Friday Routines - 12/19

It’s 66°F today.  How in the world is any Christmas loving person who was not brought up in Australia supposed to feel all Christmassy?  I know I live in the south but this is a little ridiculous!  Usually by this time there’s a little chill in the air that’s enough for my thinned blood to say…It’s Christmas in the South.  Now please don’t get me wrong, there’s no way I want the snowfall dump that has hit the northeast, and I so sympathize with everyone above the Mason-Dixon line, but 66°F?

I am blaming the weather (and economy) on the fact that there has not been one Christmas present bought by ME.  This is a problem, a BIG problem so today I will set out to rectify the problem.  But that creates another problem.  I simply do not know what to get for anyone.  I’m not being a Grinch, but I am stumped this year.  And on top of that problem there is another problem, here on Hilton Head, we’re not exactly spoiled for choice.  We have a limited pool of stores and places to go to purchase things for your loved ones, that’s a problem.  Now there is also the issue that I didn’t get my internet act together for “in time for Christmas delivery options” so there you have it another…problem.

Now at least all my menus have been decided so that is one less problem….Here’s the  plan for Christmas Eve Dinner.  I’m keeping it simple, tasty and elegant!

Endive Apple and Stilton Salad

Beef Wellington with Cabernet Sauce

Roasted Carrots and Parsnips with Curry and Brown Sugar Glaze
